Supports mission & vision of Bureau of Nutrition & Physical Activity. Interprets fed/state rules & regs, writes policies & operating procedures for statewide implementation. Provides leadership & oversight in planning, implementation & eval of WIC, Farmers' Mkt Nutr Prog & fed regs for local agency nutrition svcs. Reviews, negotiates & approves grant applications & expenditures for assign local agencies, including action plans for svc implementation & budget requests. See website for details.
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or nutrition-related degree. Registered dietitian required. Requires possession of & ability to retain current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Fed & state rules/regs as related to USDA nutrition programs. Professional standards for nutrition, training & health care. Principes and practices of contract admin & compliance, budget planning, management & technical assistance. See website for details.
Graduate degree in nutrition, curriculum development, public health, training, or management highly preferred. Three years’ work experience in federal nutrition programs such as WIC as a nutritionist, education specialist or program manager highly preferred (A Master’s degree may substitute for one year of required experience). Fluency in Spanish desired.
