Position Description

The AZ Student Unions is seeking a Dietetic Technician Registered (Program Coordinator) in our Culinary Services Department. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Retail Dining & Nutrition, this position is responsible for providing nutrition expertise for the department, enforcing and communicating the nutrition philosophy for Culinary Services and providing nutritional education to staff, resident students and student groups. The Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) provides support for all food production facilities to ensure that daily recipe output is accurate and in agreement with nutritional labeling and oversees the implementation and upkeep of comprehensive nutritional analysis of Culinary Services’ menus and recipes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, and/or Dietetics or related field from an accredited college/university.
Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) or Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and two years of experience as a DTR or RD.
Two years of food service or other experience as a DTR or RD.

Desired Qualifications

Five years’ experience in nutrition outreach on a college campus or public or community health setting.
Experience working in food service.
Maintain competent culinary skills with avid food and cooking interest and applied personal practice.
