The WIC Local Agency Liaison (Nutrition Consultant) functions as the Program Liaison between the State and five out of twenty WIC local agencies. The individual in this role oversees and manages WIC contracts, and monthly expenditure reports, as well as, monitors the local agency's program operations and provide remote and on-site technical assistance as follow-up for audit findings, as well as implementation of training, nutrition services standards and any new requirements.
Registered Dietitian. Considerable knowledge of federal/state rules & regs as related to nutrition programs. Considerable knowledge & professional standards for nutrition, training, & health care. Considerable knowledge of principles & practices of contract administration & compliance, budget planning, management, & technical assistance. Knowledge of current concepts of effective nutrition & health delivery progs, cultural patterns & practices affecting service delivery & data use. See website
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or nutrition-related degree & 3 years’ work experience in federal nutrition programs such as WIC as a nutritionist, education specialist or program manager. Master’s degree in nutrition, curriculum development, public health, training, or management preferred & may substitute for 1 year of experience. Fluency in Spanish desired.
