Conducts high risk WIC nutrition edn counseling & formula approval. Available to all of the NES as a consultant as needed. Provides clinic coverage when staff is unavailable. Provides nutrition ed & training to staff. Conducts nutrition assessments & provides education & support for WIC clients & their infants. Provides community ed related to importance of good nutrition & healthy lifestyle habits. Supervises NESs & provides team leadership to assigned WIC site.
Bachelor's degree in nutrition from an accredited college or university and/ or recognized by the American Dietetic Association and completion of the Dietetic Internship program. Three years of experience working as a Registered Dietitian.
Encourages open communication, teamwork & professionalism. Practices direct, tactful communication with all staff within the department, resulting in effective information sharing & problem solving processes. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Is an expert in nutrition ed issues & practices & actively seeks information & training about new developments in the field.
