Position Description

n this position as Registered Dietitian at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, you will provide nutritional care and recommendations specifically to our Pediatric population. Required for this position is a minimum of 1 year of work experience as an RD on a pediatric unit with at least 50-100% of your weekly hours spent on pediatric consults. You must be able to assess general pediatric assessments, able to estimate needs including failure to thrive/catch up growth/decreased muscle tone populations, experience with reading/charting of growth charts including pediatrics in wheelchairs/poor muscle tone, ability to calculate powder formula recipes (accounting for powder displacement) for the formula mixing technician to follow. PICU and NICU experience is not necessary but it would be a good bonus skillset to have as the pediatric RDN team will cross cover for each other.

This experience must be in an inpatient setting within the past year. This is a terrific opportunity to impact our patients in such a wonderful way!

This position offers 8 hour shifts with flexible morning start times, 7am-8:30am, Monday - Friday. Holiday and weekend rotation is required, 1-2 weekends per month. The Registered Dietitian positions offers a weekend schedule which is eligible for a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess knowledge of nutrition and dietetics demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics. Must be a Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible (academic and professional requirements as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association; RD credentials within 6 months of hire). Must hold current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association and be able to maintain ongoing registration while providing verification of registration annually. Maintains current licensure as required by State law.

Must be able to communicate effectively and function independently. Must be effective at prioritizing assigned patient case load.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
