The Arizona Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics supports the value of giving back to the community through the AZAND Service Team.  Members  work to ensure that Arizonans have access to a healthy, safe food supply by leading efforts to reduce food deserts, increasing participation in nutrition programs and working with industry to help develop nutritious food products that are widely available to the public.

Using a variety of engaging and effective nutrition education interventions, AZAND members empower consumers to make safe, healthy food choices. It is important that consumers be given accurate and easy-to-understand information to make these food choices.

AZAND members volunteer their time, treasure and talents to help make significant changes in the community through a variety of avenues, such as serving on local boards of food banks and food pantries, soup kitchens, diabetes prevention organizations, free medical and dental clinics, and childhood obesity task forces, to name just a few.
